Category: Design and construction of FPO/FPSO and offshore platforms
Subcategory: FPO/FPSO and platform design and construction
Type: Product
Found in challenges: Sea ice/Icing, Safety and the environment, Maritime operations, Installation integrity

GMC Maritime provides preproduced and moulded escapeways with heattrace for floors and stairs, suitable in arctic regions. The system is delivered with Power Management System to achieve minimum energy use while keeping escapeways free of ice and snow (surface temperature at approx. 2 degrees celsius). The system is approved by a Letter of Compliance with anti-icing performance requirements of DNVGL-OS-A201 and covers DNVGL notation Basic, Cold and Polar. The system is approved down to -25 degrees celsius.

Heated escapeways keep the surface free for ice and snow, providing a safe environment for normal walking and evacuation if needed. Moulded escapeways are flexible and a cost efficient way of heating surfaces in order to ensure safe operations in the arctic regions.
